The beach is always the answer
In the Spanish coast, we enjoy a very good climate practically all year round. Both on the Cantabrian Sea coast and the Mediterranean Sea coast. Those of us, who live on the coast, as it is our team’s case, enjoy mild temperatures all year round, thanks to the sea. Although we also suffer from the disadvantages of humidity because of the sea. However, should we always make the best of every situation, right? Well, we do. Those of us, who are beach lovers, enjoy the beach in winter, with thick jumpers, a vermouth and long walks in the sun and in summer, barefoot on the shore, swimming in the sea or at a beach bar.
Classic beach bars
Many beaches had classic beach bars, the known “chiriniguitos” in Spanish, with their striped awnings and long bars. Underneath them were large bottle coolers with sliding doors, where ice cream, soft drinks and glass jugs coexisted. The tables and chairs had logos of famous drinks, which were looking for sponsorship. Some beach bars even hung colourful flags.
These beach bars were important social hubs. Neighbours, family, friends. Locals mixed with those who returned to the village every summer. It was a time for reunions and revelry.
Stylish beach bars
A few decades later, “modern” beach bars arrived. Full of small details, combining soft colours and natural wood. Plastic tables and chairs were replaced by wooden benches or wicker or rattan chairs. Much more sustainable and environmentally friendly materials. The beach bars began to be decorated with small light bulbs hanging from the wooden structures to light up the dark night on the beach.
Under this blanket of lights, people danced to the summer hits. Social activities are still present today. Different formats, but we continue to create beautiful bonds. Under the moonlight, these beach bars host various activities. Film screenings, stand-up comedy, concerts, theme nights, yoga classes…
